Kent Thexton Joins SEVEN As Co-Chief Executive Officer

Thexton Brings 17 Years of International Wireless Telecommunications Experience to SEVEN®, Including Previous Executive Positions With O2, Rogers Wireless, Northern Telecom and Bell Canada

Atlanta, GA - CTIA Wireless 2004 (March 22, 2004) - SEVEN Networks, Inc. announced today that Kent Thexton is joining the company as president and co-CEO on April 1, 2004. Thexton joins SEVEN from leading UK mobile operator O2, where he most recently served as Chief Data and Marketing Officer, President of O2 Online and a member of the Board of Directors. During Thexton's tenure, O2 grew to be the leading mobile data provider in Europe with 21% of revenues from data services by the end of 2003; he brings to SEVEN an exceptionally successful track record in growing wireless data services.

Thexton will join Bill Nguyen, the founder, chairman and co-CEO of SEVEN, in growing the company's customer base and subscriber adoption. Thexton will focus on growing mass-market adoption of SEVEN's mobile data services, in addition to adding to SEVEN's operational expertise. Nguyen will focus on product development and technology innovation with SEVEN's existing and potential operator customers.

SEVEN is a leading global provider of software that enables mobile operators to offer their subscribers secure, low-cost, real-time access to critical information including business and personal email and applications. SEVEN's software is available for businesses as Server Edition (a behind-the-firewall solution) and Enterprise Edition (a zero-footprint solution), as well as for prosumers as Personal Edition (an individually-managed solution). SEVEN is commercially deployed by Sprint and Cingular Wireless in the U.S., O2 and Orange in the UK, NTTDoCoMo and KDDI Corp., and Globe Telecom, Optus and SingTel in Asia. SEVEN works on a wide variety of devices and operating systems, including BREW, J2ME, Microsoft Pocket PC, Microsoft Smartphone 2003, Palm OS and Symbian-based phones, as well as PDAs and Internet browsers.

Thexton has held numerous senior management and board of director positions with some of the world's leading mobile operators, including O2 (formerly British Telecom and British Telecom Cellnet), Northern Telecom and Bell Canada. At O2 he was responsible for driving marketing and brand execution across the company. He held end-to-end responsibility for data and voice product development, as well as management and procurement of the 5 million devices sold annually by O2. Successes included the launch of the O2 brand, lauded by Accenture as the best brand launch in Europe; market leadership in data revenue generation; and customer acquisition, including growing the O2 Online customer base to over 1.2 million customers with market-leading average revenue per subscriber (ARPU).

Before joining O2 in 1998, Thexton spent eight years with Rogers Wireless, holding the position of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. During his tenure at Rogers, he helped develop a market with less than 1% penetration of the population. Prior to this he held management positions at Northern Telecom and Bell Canada.

"When you combine SEVEN's best-of-breed strategy - focusing on building core mobile access technology and partnering with leading industry players to jointly deliver data services - with their award-winning technology and tier-one customer base, you have a truly differentiated approach," said Thexton. "This was an opportunity that could not be missed, and I look forward to working with Bill Nguyen and the rest of the team."

"Kent propelled O2 to be the first European operator to successfully deploy mobile email services," said Nguyen. "His ability to grow a market concept into a significant user base is something he's done time and time again with both business and consumer services. With nine of the world's leading wireless operators as our customers, I'm thrilled that he'll be bringing his knowledge and experience to drive the adoption of our leading technology."
