Redwood City, Calif.- (November 17, 2004) - SEVEN Networks, Inc. announced today that the company's mobile business email services are now available to wireless operators, handset manufacturers and both business and individual wireless users worldwide via QUALCOMM's BREW solution. SEVEN powered services, available from mobile operators worldwide, provide secure, real-time access to Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange, IMAP4 and POP3 email, calendar, personal contacts, corporate directories, network drives and desktop documents.
With the BREW solution, SEVEN can provide an easy to manage mobile office solution, at a low overall cost of ownership for the business user that can be rapidly deployed over the air or embedded by a handset manufacturer. SEVEN-powered services are already being offered on BREW-based handsets in Japan by KDDI Corp, the country's second largest mobile operator, through its popular 'Keitai Office' email service.
"More and more wireless users are seeing the value in being able to connect to their business email, calendar and contact information on a device they carry with them all the time - their mobile handset. BREW enables SEVEN to deliver our rich mobile office services to a much wider set of mobile devices and business users," said Kent Thexton, president and co-CEO, SEVEN.
"QUALCOMM is pleased to welcome SEVEN as a BREW developer, as it helps underscore the BREW solution's ability to deliver high-quality mobile enterprise applications," said Gina Lombardi, senior vice president of marketing and product management for QUALCOMM Internet Services. "The collaboration between QUALCOMM and SEVEN will extend mobile office capabilities to more users due to the broad range of commercially available BREW-enabled handsets."
SEVEN's best-of-breed approach engages key partners across the mobile ecosystem such as device manufacturers, infrastructure partners and systems integrators in the delivery of mobile solutions. By focusing on the company's core competency - access technologies - and leveraging partner expertise, SEVEN delivers industry-leading mobile email services at a lower cost for subscribers.
SEVEN has ported its software across a wide variety of device platforms worldwide.
