DTAC PushMail and Far EasTone's Mailgene Plus are the first and only push-based mobile email services for businesses available in Thailand and Taiwan
SEVEN-powered mobile email services have been chosen by 76 mobile operators across 47 countries
Redwood City, USA and Singapore - (September 27, 2005) - Today, SEVEN announced commercial partnerships and product availability with three leading Asia-Pacific mobile operators. DTAC in Thailand, Far EasTone in Taiwan and ePLDT in the Philippines have selected SEVEN to provide push-based mobile email to their enterprise and consumer customers. For the first time, push-based mobile email services are available to businesses in Taiwan and Thailand.
The mobile data market in Asia-Pacific and Japan is one of the most advanced in the world. The region is a hotbed for phone design, text messaging is a part of daily life and the growth of data usage on advanced handsets and 3G networks in the region continues to outpace the rest of the world. Japanese operators lead the world in mobile data revenue and 3G networks continue to launch across Asia-Pacific in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
According to a recent report*, Gartner predicted that mobile data service revenue in Asia-Pacific will increase from $15.7 billion in 2005 to $35 billion in 2009. The analyst firm predicts consumer and business mobile email revenue in the region will grow to $3.93 billion by 2009.
Nineteen mobile operators in Asia-Pacific and Japan offer SEVEN-powered mobile email services to businesses and consumers. SEVEN remains the only mobile enterprise email vendor with operator branded services sold in Japan, NTT DoCoMo and KDDI offer SEVEN powered services. SEVEN's traction in Asia-Pacific and Japan is due to the flexibility of the company's white-label platform. SEVEN delivers unmatched device, email platform and language support, integrates seamlessly with 3G networks and meets the high quality, scalability and security standards of operators and enterprises.

Philippines Expansion: ePLDT
Available now for businesses, Mobile Exchange, powered by
SEVEN, is a device-independent push email service that
makes mobile email as simple as SMS. With over 4 million
subscribers, ePLDT, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of
telecommunications giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone
Co. (PLDT). ePLDT focuses on providing next-generation
communications, connectivity, content and value-added
services to corporations and consumers. Mobile Exchange
will also soon be available to ePLDT's consumer
subscribers. Mobile Exchange is available in popular phone
models like the Nokia 9500, 6600, 6630, Sony-Ericsson

"The primary initiative of the PLDT group is to create convergence between its widespread portfolio, specifically focusing on wireless, fixed line and internet services. With this in mind, SEVEN will not only help us connect our current services, but extend them as well. SEVEN is a push email solution that allows users to receive email messages on a range of supported handsets of their choice, delivering a more cost-effective and attractive solution, increasing the service's over-all market coverage," said Ray C. Espinosa, President, ePLDT Inc.
"Asia is a really exciting market to be working in," said Paul Hedman, Managing Director, SEVEN EMEA and APAC. "It is growing faster than any other in terms of mobile data traffic and I predict the dam is about to burst. Eight years ago the Philippines had just 1.3 million mobile users. It now has over 23 million, sending over 200 million text messages a day. The story is similar in Taiwan, where on average every resident has at least one mobile subscription and in Thailand where the government is actively encouraging the introduction and adoption of services that will contribute to the country's competitiveness. In parallel to that growth, Asia is a hotbed for handset design, and people want the freedom to choose their own device to access their email, making SEVEN the best partner for operators in the region."
